As a music enthusiast, singer, and a self-taught musician (though I don’t really show it on public), I always look forward to music that is new and fresh to my ears and I think most of the Filipinos do, too.

They say Filipinos love music and most of them are really good singers which, I think is true. Lots of Filipinos go big with their musical talent, not only in our country but also internationally like Rachel Ann Go and Charice. It’s just that there are too many good singers out there that are underrated and I think they deserve to get a record label so they could share their wonderful music to the world.

So, here are the top 5 Filipino artists, you should listen to:

5. Johnoy Danao

If you want something that is really “tagos sa puso”, Johnoy Danao will give you the feels.

4. Ysabelle Cuevas

If you searched for Mcdo’s Commercial OST, “Tuloy pa rin” originally sang by Neocolors, you probably know or heard of Ysabelle Cueva. Ysabelle do covers of OPM with her guitar then upload it on youtube. Her voice is so soothing that it will keep you relaxed while listening to her.

What I love about this artist is the originality of his songs and the uniqueness of his songs and voice. His songs are not something one will usually hear on a daily basis. I also love the lyrics of his songs.

Her voice gives me goose bumps. No words, she’s really good.

Here comes the girl who writes songs about anything, even space and grammar. I like how unique and catchy her songs are (especially the lyrics, make sure you listen very well to the lyrics). If you’re having a bad day, listen to Reese.
